Finding the Sweet Nectar Within
Tiny messengers have been catching my attention lately — dragonflies, butterflies, and now, bees.
The other day I was driving and glanced down to see a big, fuzzy bumblebee lying face-up on my Dunkin' iced coffee cup. I did a double take just as it tumbled down next to my leg. My first instinct was panic, of course, but my son quickly reminded me, “The big bumbles don’t have stingers.”
So I took a breath, slowed down, and really looked. I saw it struggling. At a red light, I gently scooped it into a napkin and held it out the window to see if it would fly—but it couldn’t. It was too tired, too injured.
And because I always look for the deeper meaning in everything life places on my path, I thought about what bees symbolize: spreading sweetness. Bees work tirelessly, moving from flower to flower, pollinating as they go—leaving behind the nectar that makes the world bloom.
And I asked myself:
What am I spreading, day to day?
I hope it’s joy. Encouragement. Support. Consistency. Kind words and pats on the back. But the truth is, not every day feels light. Some days are heavy, and it takes effort to show up that way.
That’s where the work comes in: daily check-ins, feeling my emotions fully, and getting to the root of where they come from. The thing that helps me stay balanced—what keeps me able to show up—is movement.
Because our bodies are naturally equipped to pollinate sweetness within ourselves.
Movement is how we spread our own inner nectar—our endorphins.
Every time we move, we shake loose what’s stuck. We clear away the heaviness. We reset our energy. And when we do that, we have more to give—more smiles, more patience, more kindness to offer the world.
So today, unleash your kindest self.
You never know how far your smile will go… your compliment, your empathy, your presence. It matters.
✨ Spread more kindness—and start with you.
