"The More Prepared You Are, The Luckier You Get… But What Does Preparation Really Look Like?"
Some of us prepare by making to do lists.
Others prepare by slowing down.
You’ve probably heard the phrase, “The more prepared you are, the luckier you get.”
But here’s what nobody tells you—preparation doesn’t look the same for everyone.
Some of us prepare by making to-do lists, waking up early, meal prepping, and organizing every detail. Others prepare by slowing down, tuning into what we really need, and responding from a deeper place of inner knowing.
Both are valid. Both are powerful. But only one will feel aligned—for you.
I’ve seen this play out in my life, in my business, and in my family.
Some people are naturally wired to be highly structured, task-driven, and laser-focused. They thrive on systems and predictability. Others are more intuitive, emotional, or creative—and their lives don’t follow a traditional “linear” script. But that doesn’t mean they’re lazy, disorganized, or failing.
We have to stop measuring our preparation, progress, or success by someone else’s timeline
The truth is, what looks like chaos on the outside may be someone else's sacred rhythm.
And what looks like perfection may be someone else’s coping mechanism.
You don’t know what people are carrying.
You don’t know what it took for someone to even show up today.
We live in a world obsessed with facts and metrics—steps, macros, schedules, salaries.
But sometimes the most powerful thing we can measure is how honest we’re being with ourselves.
That’s what real preparation looks like.
It’s not about how perfect your plan is—it’s about how aligned your steps are with your own truth.
As someone who runs a business, teaches 17 classes a week, is raising a son, building a brand, writing a blog, and working through my own healing—I know how it might look from the outside.
But let me be clear:
I didn’t get here by doing it all "the right way."
I got here by doing it my way.
I’ve fallen apart.
I’ve rebuilt.
I’ve stopped trying to hold myself to everyone else’s standards—and I’ve started building my life from my own inner truth.
So if you’re in a season where you feel behind…
If you’ve made choices that didn’t work out…
If your version of “progress” looks like rest or quiet steps…
You are not broken.
You are just preparing differently.
And that’s still powerful.
