Time to Do an Update

It’s time to do an update…

You’ve evolved- your story should too

You ever go to open an app on your phone that you haven’t used in a while, and it pauses—because it needs to update?

It hit me this week: we are no different.

How often do we keep trying to move through life, through routines, through relationships, based on an old version of ourselves? How often do we make decisions through outdated thinking, expectations, or shame from the past?

And when it doesn’t work anymore—when we crash, glitch, or feel completely disconnected—we wonder why.

You Need to Pause and Update

We evolve. We change.
We grow through heartbreak. You’re Not That Version Anymore

I hear it all the time in my classes:

“I used to be able to work out four days a week...”
“I used to be so motivated...”
“I used to feel more like myself...”

Okay, but who were you then?
Were you child-free? Newly married? Living a different life entirely?
We shift through grief.
We wake up after burnout.
And yet—we’re still trying to function like we’re running on the same internal software from five years ago.

It doesn’t work.

We need to pause and do the update.
Not because we’re broken.
Because we’re becoming—and we have to make space for that new version to come online.

What’s changed?
What should have changed?

We have to stop measuring ourselves against a version of us who didn’t carry what we carry now. You’re not her anymore—and you don’t have to be. You’re you, right now. That’s who your body, your schedule, your heart needs to be designed around.

Movement Isn’t a Punishment. It’s a Portal.

Let me say this loud and clear:
Movement is not about fixing yourself.
It’s not a punishment for the weekend.
It’s not a checklist item.

Movement is the portal.
It wakes you up.
It reminds you you’re alive.
It brings your breath, your spirit, and your truth back online.

Every time you move—intentionally, soulfully—you’re not just sweating.
You’re returning to yourself.

That clarity you feel after class? That feeling of, “Oh wow, I’m here again”?
That’s not accidental. That’s biology and spirit syncing up.

So Here's the Truth

You don’t need to “get back” to who you used to be.
You need to meet who you are now.

Not the fantasy of who you wish you were.
Not the projection of what others expect.
The you that’s right here, today. With your responsibilities. With your hard-won wisdom. With your capacity to evolve.

So if you feel stuck, foggy, or uninspired, maybe it’s not a full reset you need.
Maybe it’s just a quiet moment to say:

“It’s time to update. I’m not who I was. I’m ready to live like it.”

Take the pause.
Move your body.
Breathe deeply.
And let the newest version of you come alive.
