Where Are You Spending Your Energy?

🌊 “This year has shown me what happens when you stop outsourcing your energy and start pouring it into what you love. When I said YES fully — to this space, this community, this purpose — everything shifted. What’s calling for your full-hearted yes?”

What are you spending most of your energy on in this current phase of your life? Ask yourself: how much of that energy is fueling things you love — and how much is draining you?

In life, anything done half-heartedly is almost like it’s not worth doing at all. Maybe you’re doing something because you feel pressured, or because you saw it on social media and thought you “should.” But that energy never multiplies — it just fizzles out.

As summer winds down, with nights that make you want to stay at the beach or chase sunsets, pause and ask yourself: what in your life is backed with 100% commitment and dedication?

As a Coach

My job is to keep people motivated — and because I believe in the power of coaching and the need for leaders in our communities, I have to walk into Crush Fitness Studios authentically aligned. That means showing up ready to push everyone to their next level.

But I’ll be honest: I don’t feel that way every single day. That’s where the work comes in — daily filling my mind with stories, quotes, industry knowledge, and leaning on my own coaches so I can be at my best.

One of my top-10 favorite quotes has always been:
“Motivation comes and goes. Discipline is what moves the needle forward.”

And discipline comes in many forms:

  • Choosing what time you go to bed.

  • Choosing what you eat and drink.

  • Choosing how you train.

  • Most importantly, choosing who you surround yourself with.

The energy of the people around you influences your habits. When you seek out people and coaches who live the way you want to, your life begins to shift.

Consistency = Patterns = Results

Consistency is what gets us to the next level. Look back over your life: the patterns that brought you success, and the patterns that held you back, both grew from consistency.

If you want a dream vacation but consistently spend your weekends going out to eat instead of saving, will you still get there? Maybe — but it will take longer, with more detours.

The same is true in health and fitness. Your daily choices compound.

Try This Reflection This Week

  • Notice where you are most consistent.

  • Notice patterns like gossip, negative self-talk, or self-limiting habits.

  • Then ask: Are the things I do most consistently aligned with my goals — or are they keeping me stuck?

My Own Example

Recently, I cut out one small habit: hitting snooze. I realized I’ve been getting up before the sun for 10 years, yet I was still resisting it. So I stopped snoozing and reframed it: I’m actually really good at this. I get to be the spark that starts someone else’s day.

That shift gave me joy. Because maybe, just maybe, I’m the reason someone is a little kinder that day. That’s the ripple effect.

Change your thoughts, and you can truly change your life.
